Camden

We had a great service in Camden this morning, now we are in Hope waiting for 5 o'clock to get here.  Then, we are on our way to Prescott.  The kids and I are in our motel room just hanging out and Shannon is out running.  We are having a really great tour and we have met some great missionaries and pastors.  The kids have made many new missionary friends and they are all adults.  Ethan and Megan are the only kids on tour besides a baby.  They are loving it!  Ethan told Shannon yesterday that he was going to every service on the tour because he likes it.  It makes you feel good when your kids like what we are doing.  Maybe I should say it make us feel good when our kids like what we are doing.  Shannon has always said, "God didn't just call  me and Susan but He also called our kids."  From day one of this journey, we have included the kids in everything that we do.  That is one of the reasons that we homeschool, so we can travel as a family.  It has been hard at times, but well worth it.  When we were in Morrilton over the weekend Ethan and Megan were asked the question,    "How do you like being a missionary kid?", Ethan's response was "It's awesome."  Shannon and I are so thankful that our kids like being missionary kids and are excited about what we are doing.

Sectional Tour

We started sectional tour yesterday morning.  For those of you who don't know what sectional tour is, Arkansas AG's are separated into 16 sections.  We will be going to all sixteen sections and raising support for our cash budget.  We will do two services a day at two different sections. Yesterday we were in Pine Bluff and Monticello and today we will be in Camden and Prescott.  So, there is a lot of traveling involved.  Yes, we brought the kids and we will be doing school on the road.  Ethan and Megan are liking it so far, but by the end I bet they might be thinking something else.  Please remember us in your prayers as we travel and raise support.  We are very tired today because we got up yesterday at 5:00 a.m. and went to bed around 11:30, and now we are back up getting ready to go again.

Pray, Pray, Pray

As most of you know, Shannon and I are trying to raise our budget to get to Guatemala.  We have been itinerating since May 2008.  We are very thankful to have 54% of our budget raised. However, we can not get to Guatemala until we are at 100%.  So, what's the problem?  We seemed to have stalled out at 54%.  That is why the title of this post is Pray, Pray, Pray.  We need you to pray that we will begin to move past the 54%.  And, that the churches that we go to every weekend will "pick us up".  Our scheduled date to leave is August 26, 2009,  that is only 6 months away!  We need things to pick back up!  I know what the news says, "we are in a recession", but our God is not in a recession.  God has called us to do this and will provide a way.  We are asking that everyone please say a prayer for us.  Our God is FAITHFUL!

Outdoor Adventures

Shannon and the kids have been geocashing.  I know what your thinking, what in the world is that?  You can go the the website and check it out, www.geocashing.com.  Here is what it is from my point of view; treasure hunting.  You go to the website and get the coordinates and enter it in your GPS.  Then, you go and find it.  You don't take the treasure when you find it, you sign the log and put it back for the next person to find.  If you ask me, it's a waste of time.  I am not into finding something for no reason.  Again, I am not the outdoors type!  But, the kids really like it. And, believe it or not, they are everywhere!  I am posting some pictures from their last adventure.  They can not wait to go again!   Since this is a family blog, I thought I would post some things that Shannon enjoys doing.  So, I am posting some pics from his last duck hunt.   Ok, just so you know, I wanted to add more pictures than this, but it wouldn't do it. So, I will add more tomorrow.  I wanted you to see what a "treasure" looks like.

Friends, Passports, and Mt. Nebo

Above:  This is Ethan and Megan with their very good friends, Haylee and Cooper Spence.  We are so thankful that God has blessed them with such great friends.   Below:  We took the kids to get their passports today.  They were so excited and they cant wait to get them in the mail.

We also took the kids up to Mt. Nebo, and they loved it.  They want us to take them camping there this summer.  I really doubt thats going to happen!

The Hersle Pruitt Jogging Trail.    For those of you who dont know, there is a trail named after Shannon's dad at Dow Chemical in Russellville.  The kids wanted to go and see it today, so we took them.
