This song pretty much sums up our lives right now.  Go ahead and replace the names of the cities/states with names of cities/towns in Arkansas and that would make it perfect.  We are thankful to be busy because that means that we are making progress.  We are on track to have all of our monies (is that a word?) by August.  We must get back to Ecuador in time for the kids to start school.  We would like to be able to find housing before school starts too.  And our kids want to help us pick a place to live this time.  (that should be interesting)

Other than our crazy traveling schedule I don't really have a great deal to blog about.  Just pray that we have our support raised by August and for God's protection as we travel.

We Survived!

We have officially survived the flu.  We are still hacking our heads off, but we are still living.  We are also still very fatigued.  Is that a word?  Fatigued?  Tired, I like that word better.  And I'm excited to say that our kids did NOT get the flu, even though they lived in our germ ridden house.

Anyway.

We even managed to go to our services over the weekend.  We were in Monticello and Camden and had two very good services.  I think between the two of us we ate a whole bag of cough drops on Sunday.  We arrived home Monday afternoon completely worn out.

And guess what?  Since we were sick all last week and didn't leave the house very much, we didn't have any food in our house.  So we had to make a mad dash to the grocery store today.  Our kids thanked us.

We are gearing up for a sectional tour over the whole state of Arkansas that begins Thursday.  I will be traveling some with Shannon but not to every service.  Someone has to stay home and take care of the kids and I volunteered.  (haha!) I have been traveling a lot with Shannon since January and I'm ready to stay home for a while.  But, I'm also looking forward to seeing friends that we haven't been able to see yet on this tour.

We are still raising monthly support and are expecting to have it raised by August.  We are very anxious to get back to Ecuador and get back to work.

Did you know there was a presidential election in Ecuador on Sunday?  No?  Well there was and the former president got re-elected.  And did you know that the new airport is scheduled to open tomorrow?  Yes.  And guess how far it is from our house? And hour and a half.  Boo!!!  It use to take us five minutes to get home and now it's going to take over an hour.  I dare to say that it will probably take about two hours with the traffic.

Oh and did you know that Harps is opening tomorrow in West Fork?  Well, it is.  haha!

We really miss Ecuador!!

Memories

If any of you keep up with us on FB you might already know that I have the flu.  Went to the Dr. this afternoon for the official, "You've got the flu."  Did I want to go, no.  But I did because I thought maybe we would catch it early and it wouldn't be as bad.  I've seriously never felt so bad.  Anyway, I had put on FB that my blog update would have to wait but since I'm in my bedroom all alone and my body aches so bad that I can't rest I decided to do a little update.

Hope that didn't depress anyone.  :)

We've had a busy last two weeks but they have been great.  One Feb. 3 we traveled about 30 miles (or less) and then this last weekend we traveled 812 miles.  It's a crazy, crazy life.  On the third we were close to home in Fayetteville and had a wonderful day at Trinity Fellowship. As most of you know we were youth pastors with Jim Hughes in Star City before he past away.  Kyle, his son is the young adult pastor at Trinity and we were honor to be in service with him that night.  The Hughes' are very special people to us and they will always be dear to our hearts.

We also had the privilege of speaking at the one o'clock Spanish service at Trinity.  We LOVE church in Spanish.  It made us really miss Ecuador and our church there.  We also realized that we need to start studying our Spanish because it's getting bad.

This last weekend was very special to us because we got to see Katie and Rebecca.  If you've heard Shannon preach about Ecuador he talks about two single MA's that took care of our kids while I was in the hospital in Costa Rica, well this is them.  We all bonded within in the first week and we had a lot of fun together.  Memories that I will cherish forever.  

Why not make s'mores in the freezing cold.  Thanks to Katie's dad for building the fire.  Katie's family is great by the way.

Some very special ladies to me and my family. 

Our kids absolutely love them.  Our kids complain if we tell them that they have to travel with us on the weekend but when we told them who we were going to see they didn't say one bad word about it.

We had met Katie's mom, Karen, in Costa Rica about three years ago and Katie told us about how good her mom's fish was.  So we made a pact right then that we would get together for a fish fry in Memphis.  We all still can't believe that it actually happened.  Katie's mom and dad are pretty great people and now we see where Katie gets her personality.  I actually have a picture of all of us together but due to the fact that I'm sick and don't feel like plugging in my camera I will add one the next time I blog.

Check out this awesome food.  It was the best crappie and shut-up dogs that I've ever eaten.  Thank you Karen for doing this for us and allowing us into your home and sharing your family with us.  

I know that you will think this is crazy but I added up the time that we actually had together and it was about ten hours in all.  That was just not enough time, but we enjoyed every minute of it.

I hate good-byes.

We left Memphis Saturday afternoon and headed to Star City for our Sunday morning service there.  We were all pretty tired and were glad that we got there in enough time to just rest.  Star City is a very special place to us because it was our first (and last) church to pastor.  I went on my first missions trip with Star City and they were our first team in Ecuador.  We have lots of special memories there and we love them all so much.  When we got to church Sunday morning we were informed that there were a lot of people out with the flu.  I think this is where I got the flu.  Thanks Star City First!!!  I'm only kidding, we enjoyed seeing everyone and really enjoyed being there.  I would do it all over again even if I knew I would get the flu.  

Well this little update turned into a big one.
