Hello from Disney

Wow, Disney was awesome!  We got there around 9 a.m. and left around midnight.  We had an amazing time.  It really meant a lot to Megan.  She got to meet so many of the Disney characters.  The first thing she said to me was, "you should have brought me here a long time of go."  Just seeing her face light up was a memory I will never forget.  Disney is a little girls dream.  I don't think it meant as much to Ethan because he is 13 and a boy.  We can not wait to go back.  Was it expensive? Yes.  Was it worth it? YES!!  

We spent the day at Disney with the Martin Family.  They are also missionaries, heading to Africa.

Hello from Florida

We finally made it to Florida!  We left Sunday after a service in Salem Arkansas.  We stopped driving around 1:30 (2:30 their time)  and spent the night in Macon Georgia.  We were really tired so we slept in, and got back on the road around 10 the next morning.  We arrived in St. Petersburg around 5 Monday afternoon.  We went out today and did a little sightseeing and just messed around.  We will be heading to Ft. Myers tomorrow for a service.  I will try to update the blog as much as I can.

Emotions

Have you ever been in one of those 'blah' times in your life?  Well, I have been there for a while now.  I have so many mixed emotions that I don't know what to think about it all.  If I wrote down all the emotions that I have been experiencing over the past several weeks, it would be scary. And, you would probably think, she is crazy.  Most of you probably think that I am crazy anyway, huh?   Where to begin?  We are down to about 4 months until our departure date. Will we make it or will we not?  That is the question that plays over and over in my mind.  Then I think trust Jesus.  Then I think but what if it doesn't happen.  And it goes on and on, everyday. Battlefield of the mind.  Do we sell everything now or do we wait?  Is our house going to sell? Is our van going to sell?  Are my kids going to pass to the next grade?  Then I have to slap myself back into "faith" mode.  I have to go back to my bible and read all the promises that He has spoke to me.  I am so thankful for intineration because  I think that God uses this time to prepare us for the task that is ahead of us.  It's a very emotional time as well as a 'learning to trust God' time.  I know that when we do get our budget raised 100% that we will be able to look back and say "wow, I can't believe the greatness of God".  And when we are over in Guatemala having a bad day, we will look back to these days and the great things that God has done for us and know that we are right where He wants us.  I know that I don't have all the answers right now, but I know He does.  And if it's August or December, He knows.  I just need to trust Him!

Please keep us in your prayers.  We are leaving tomorrow for our weekend services and then we are headed to Florida.  We have several appointments there.  I will be updating the blog as often as I can.  We are looking forward to spending time with some great missionary friends.

Birthday and the Beach

We have been so busy!  Last week we went to Branson for a missionary retreat, celebrated Megan's 11th birthday, and went to Texas.  Since it was Easter weekend and we didn't have any services we decided to take some things to my moms.  We are so glad we did!  It was so nice to get away from all the "worries" that a missionary family has.  We are back home now and back to work.  We are down to 41/2 months to our departure date!  Please pray that we will be able to make this date.  We will be home for about 10 days, then we are off to Florida!  Here are a few pictures from last week.

Happy Birthday Megan

Tomorrow is Megan's birthday!  Our baby will be 11 years old.  We can not believe how fast she is growing up.  We are very proud of the young lady that she is becoming.  She is so excited about moving to Costa Rica and she loves the Lord with all her heart.  Ok, I know this is Megan's birthday but, both of our kids are really great.  They have adapted to our new life style very well, and have loved every minute of it.  Well, maybe not every minute.  Back to Megan's birthday, happy birthday Meg, we love you.                                                                                                                                

                                     

Friends and Chickens

Tuesday we went to help some friends dump chickens.  For those of you who don't know what that means,  baby chicks come in crates and you have to dump them out in the chicken house. The Spence's have not had chickens since October.  They were one of the families that got left high and dry by Pilgrims Pride.  With lots of prayer they made it through and just signed a contract with Tyson.  So, we were more than happy to help them dump their new Tyson chickens.  It was a joyous day!  

The Spence's have two children, Cooper and Haylee, they have became very good friends with Ethan and Megan.  They are also homeschooled, so they get to spend a lot of time together. Well, when we are home.  We are very thankful for such great friends.
